common questions
How long does creating a custom piece take?
- Our custom pieces traditionally 2-4 weeks once a design is approved. We always say we move as quickly as our clients. If there are adjustments to the design or your timeline looks different, that can effect our production time.
Do you sell lab-grown (synthetic) diamonds?
- No. At The Diamond Bar, we are committed to offering only natural, genuine diamonds. Our dedication to quality and authenticity means that we do not sell lab-grown diamonds (synthetic diamonds). While synthetic diamonds have been marketed as a more environmentally-friendly alternative, the reality is that their mass production process has a significant environmental impact, often exceeding that of traditional diamond mining.
Furthermore, the value of synthetic diamonds diminishes dramatically once they leave the store—unlike natural diamonds, which continue to hold value over time. At The Diamond Bar, we believe in offering products that maintain their integrity and worth, ensuring that our clients invest in pieces that will stand the test of time.
We understand that our philosophy may not align with everyone's preferences, and we respect individual choices. Our goal is to provide you with diamonds that are not only beautiful but also meaningful, with enduring value and a legacy of excellence.
Can you give me a repair quote over the phone and how long does it take?
We are unable to provide repair quotes over the phone, as each piece requires an in-person evaluation by our jeweler to ensure an accurate estimate. This process allows us to assess the full extent of the repair, as there may be additional work needed that is not immediately apparent. Depending on the complexity of the repair, the turnaround time typically ranges from 2 to 3 weeks. Our goal is to provide you with the highest level of care and precision, ensuring no surprises along the way.
Do you purchase old pieces, coins or gold?
Yes, we do purchase gold coins and old pieces, as long as they are made of natural gold and not plated. Additionally, we only purchase items that align with our interests and inventory needs. If you have something you'd like to sell, feel free to bring it in for an evaluation!
Can I resize my ring?
Many rings can be resized, but the feasibility depends on the design and material. Consulting with a professional jeweler is recommended.
What is the best way to store my jewelry?
Storing jewelry in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight and in separate compartments, can prevent scratches and tarnishing.
How do I clean my jewelry?
Regular cleaning is essential to maintain the brilliance of your pieces. A gentle cleaning solution of 50/50 warm water and ammonia, along with a soft toothbrush, can effectively remove dirt and oils without damaging your jewelry. After cleaned, rinse with warm water. We use the red, white and blue rule. If the stones are not red, white or blue, do not let them soak in any solutions.
